The truth is that there are so many rules that would have to be met simultaneously for packaging to be recyclable, that we very easily come to the conclusion that the solution to the environmental problems we have is not, in fact, recycling. I said this in an interview for Press One.

The solution is to avoid packaging as much as possible, from the start. From when we go shopping. Or, even better, from when we plan to go shopping. That is, to buy as much in bulk as possible, loose, to put it in our own boxes, jars, reusable containers that we have at home.

And when we can't do that, at least look for packaging that suggests it could be recycled. Paper, the simplest, transparent plastic, like PET, glass, aluminum, in the largest possible sizes.
