Vocea Pământului - Climate Resilience Workshop

💫We invite you to a transformative group process aimed at awakening motivation, connection, solidarity, and developing resilience in the face of global and individual challenges. In these times of immense uncertainty, caused by climate change, pandemics, and wars, where the sixth extinction continues to accelerate, and inequalities and racism are increasingly visible, there is great potential for transformation. Creativity, courage, and collective actions can change the way the ecological and political landscape is cultivated for future generations. This is a time when many of us are seeking ways to reconnect with each other, with ourselves, with the living planet of which we are a part, and to contribute our own gifts to the change we wish to see in the world. Of all the dangers we face, none is more perilous than our lack of response, as Joanna Macy, the initiator of The Work That Reconnects group processes, argues. We often experience despair, anger, fear, and exhaustion in the process of navigating these times, and sometimes it's easier to turn our backs and withdraw. However, through this suppression and numbness, we hinder our ability to respond and process information. The energy we use to cover up and hide the despair we experience is diverted from being put to use for the world, exhausting the necessary capacities for resilience and imagination. With the help of connection with ourselves and with others, and by acknowledging the reality of these things, we can find the courage to continue. In this 3-hour workshop, we will journey through the 4 stages of The Work That Reconnects spiral: Gratitude, Honoring our Pain for the World, Seeing with New Eyes, Going Forth. This is a process of transforming helplessness into intentional action, while also serving as a nourishing wellspring for us. Through a series of creative and experiential exercises, The Work That Reconnects opens up space to connect with the pain that exists in the world and find the strength needed to take the next step, all while being supported by a group. It is rooted in deep ecology, systems theory, and spiritual traditions, in the experiential methods and teachings of Joanna Macy, the initiator of these processes. Where? Alexandra Brînzac - psychologist, graduate of the Master's program in Psychodiagnosis, Unifying Experiential Psychotherapy and Personal Development (P.E.U), with experience in non-formal education and a great passion for ecopsychology, Nature-based therapies, forest bathing, and deep ecology. She facilitates workshops and learning and growth spaces, designed to reconnect people with the web-of-life of which we are a part, with the rhythms and seasons of Nature. In the last year, she has also worked on and facilitated spaces focused on the topic of climate anxiety and eco-emotions, cultivating resilience in the context of the climate crisis. These are inspired by The Work That Reconnects, a method initiated by Joanna Macy. The workshop is part of the "There is No Away" project - co-funded by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN). "There is no away" is a participatory activation project through art, which proposes a subjective exploration of the relationship with produced waste, respectively with one's own garbage, through a series of photo-ecoperformative experiments, as well as a public dialogue that questions sustainable practices, both at an individual level and within the common social sphere. The project does not necessarily represent the position of the National Cultural Fund Administration. AFCN is not responsible for the content of the project or how the project results may be used. These are entirely the responsibility of the funding beneficiary.
