National Conference: Circular Economy
Reciclyng International Magazine (publisher of INFOMEDIU EUROPA magazine) and the Federation of Intercommunity Development Associations (FADI) invite you to the National Conference: "Circular Economy in Practice: Challenges and Solutions for Municipal Waste Management", which will take place on October 24, 2023, in the "Nicolae Iorga" Hall, Romanian Parliament. This event is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests (MMAP) and brings together numerous experts, government officials, and industry representatives to discuss and develop solutions for efficient municipal waste management, within the context of the circular economy. In the noisy landscape of public events of all kinds, such a conference has – and more importantly, will have in the future! – great significance, linked above all to human and environmental health. All these aspects are covered in the sessions of the National Conference on the circular economy – they may have different titles, but the content circularly returns to a central point: the health of the individual and society. Delegating activities in the municipal waste management flow: The conference will analyze recent legislative changes and seek solutions for the efficient implementation of the entire municipal waste management system, ensuring the continuity of services in SMID. Management of packaging waste from municipal waste: Aspects related to cost coverage, traceability, and delimitation of responsibilities between ULAs/IDAs will be discussed, as well as the preparation of sorting reports. Contracting by PROs of packaging quantities generated in areas delegated through IDAs: The process of concluding contracts between IDAs and PROs will be addressed, as well as ways to promote efficient collaboration. Development of recycling infrastructure by accessing non-reimbursable funds: The importance of accessing non-reimbursable funds for the development of recycling infrastructure in Romania will be discussed. Impact of the Deposit Return System on waste management: The introduction of the Deposit Return System, which will lead to increased efficiency in packaging waste collection, may generate a change in the integrated waste management system, regarding the fulfillment of objectives assumed through projects implemented with the support of European funds. It necessitates the revision of WMMs, balancing delegated contracts, and resizing the collection and sorting capacities of recyclable fractions. Development of waste treatment and energy recovery infrastructure: Necessary investments for the development of composting and biodegradable waste recovery infrastructure will be discussed. This conference brings together stakeholders to discuss and develop solutions for more efficient municipal waste management, contributing to the promotion of a more sustainable circular economy in Romania. *** About MMAP The Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests (MMAP) is responsible for drafting and implementing government policy in the field of environmental protection and waste management in Romania. *** About Reciclyng International Magazine Reciclyng International Magazine is the publisher of INFOMEDIU EUROPA magazine, the most important environmental magazine in Romania, published monthly, the only Romanian niche publication printed 100% on recycled paper, correspondent of Deutsche Presse-Agentur. *** About FADI The Federation of Intercommunity Development Associations (FADI) represents and promotes the interests of IDAs in Romania and contributes to the development of effective solutions for municipal waste management.
