ESG:ro 2023 - Hybrid Event

BusinessMark Since 2013, we have been organizing business events, mainly "own concept" events, designed and planned by us, from idea and concept to implementation. We have an "all-industries" approach and dedicate projects to a wide range of industries and professional fields. We want to "leave our mark" on the professional lives of participants, to make a concrete impact. We aim to create contexts for exchange of experience and creation of ideas, contexts for development, for being inspired and finding the right partners.

ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) has been discussed for two decades, but only in January 2023 did the CSRD directive come into force, granting member states 18 months to integrate it into national legislation. Thus, starting from 2024, companies with a turnover of over 40 million euros and/or total assets greater than 20 million euros and/or over 250 employees will be obliged to report sustainability results. Small and medium-sized enterprises listed on regulated EU markets will have until January 1, 2026, to comply with reporting requirements. Throughout this period, the lack of a unified international standard for companies to follow has become increasingly pressing, as the importance of non-financial reporting in creating medium- and long-term value has become more evident. Beyond the role of non-financial reporting in combating the risks humanity faces – pollution, global warming, poverty, social conflicts – ESG standards also contribute to a better understanding of the organization and its role in the global economy. ESG implies better long-term investment planning, reduction of energy and resource costs, optimization, increased customer loyalty, increased brand value, and improved access to resources. How do ESG indicators help us ensure the stability/continuity of the organization in the medium and long term? How do these elements contribute to better employee retention in the company, their well-being, and gaining the loyalty of all actors involved in the business? How can we transition to a green business, to a more sustainable business? What challenges arise in this transition? What are the obstacles in applying ESG standards? But what about the financial opportunities? We will discuss all these at the first edition of ESG:ro, an event that will take place in person, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bucharest, but also virtually, on May 26, 2023. Event Tags:
