Investors, non-governmental organizations, and other categories of stakeholders are increasingly interested in seeing information from companies about the effects of their activities on people and the environment, in order to estimate their impact. Currently, the requirement to publish such data applies only to companies with more than 500 employees, while the revised version of the CSR Directive proposes a reduced threshold of 250 employees. The new version will require approximately 50,000 large enterprises and listed companies in the European Union (EU) – compared to 11,000 currently – to publish information regarding their supply chain, their impact on ecosystems, climate change, forests and local communities, as well as their governance policies. Conference Objectives The conference "A New Shape for the CSR Directive. How Are the Rules of the Game Changing?" aims to bring together representatives of the political environment, the business community, and civil society to exchange experiences on how the changes will be transposed into national legislation. At the same time, clarifications will be provided on how the changes could influence the compatibility between the business interests of companies and the sustainable development of local communities, as well as those related to evaluating the performance of CSR in companies.
