Teodora Ghenciu Founder of eEco

I discovered the concept of sustainability in 2018, while filming a report on food waste. I was working at Digi 24 at the time and had the luck and freedom to produce a show on topics that were primarily of concern to me. Food waste was one of them, but I also paid close attention to issues such as air pollution, garbage, poverty, corruption, education, and chaotic urban development.
So when I first saw the UN Sustainable Development Goals – Zero Hunger, Clean Water, Responsible Consumption, Sustainable Cities, Gender Equality, Decent Work, Green Energy – I had an epiphany. Everything I felt was important to discuss in the public sphere, all the problems I wanted to find solutions for, were zero priority for the United Nations; there was already a Romanian strategy in this regard. It was incredible.

I felt that this is what I needed to do from that moment on, more emphatically and more focused. That this is my mission and my purpose on Earth. And that journalism was perhaps just the way to get here.

I started reading everything I could find about it, watching documentaries, attending conferences and events, talking to specialists, buying ISO standards to study, on corporate responsibility and sustainable procurement, taking specialized courses in sustainable business management, entrepreneurship courses, all to better understand how I could truly contribute to societal change.

Now I believe that journalism is the tool that can help me work towards this great objective: to help people make an easier transition to a more responsible lifestyle and company leaders towards a more sustainable business.

The result of my study and introspection is this website. And the way I believe I can contribute to change is structured in the Collaborations section.

I embrace this mission. But I have no chance of succeeding without your involvement. So let's change the world! Together!
